Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Stir in diced tomatoes and cook for a few minutes. Add ricotta cheese and mix until creamy. Season with salt and pepper.
Toss the cooked pasta with the sauce and add freshly chopped basil. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
