Ingredients
  

For the Pie Crust

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (cold and cubed)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup ice water

For the Filling

  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, butter, and sugar. Mix until crumbly. Add ice water until dough forms.
  • Press the dough into a pie dish and set aside.
  • In another bowl, mix corn syrup, brown sugar, cocoa powder, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Fold in pecans and chocolate chips, then pour the filling into the crust.
  • Bake for 60 minutes or until the filling is set.
  • Let it cool before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
