Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and garlic, and sauté until tender.
In a mixing bowl, combine the sautéed mushrooms, cream cheese, sour cream, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, salt, pepper, and thyme or parsley. Mix until well blended.
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle the remaining mozzarella on top. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes or until bubbly.
Notes
Serve warm with crackers or bread. You can add more herbs for extra flavor.
