Ingredients

  • 6 medium apples washed and dried
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup freeze-dried strawberries crushed
  • ½ cup crushed shortcake cookies or graham crackers
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 6 wooden sticks

Instructions

  • Insert wooden sticks into the top of each apple, about halfway through.
  • Melt white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth.
  • Dip each apple into melted chocolate, turning to coat evenly.
  • Let excess chocolate drip off, then roll or sprinkle with crushed strawberries and cookies.
  • Place coated apples on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Lightly dust with powdered sugar for a finishing touch.
  • Refrigerate 30 minutes until chocolate is set before serving.

Notes

  • Use tart apples like Granny Smith to balance the sweet coating.
  • Crush strawberries finely so they adhere better to the chocolate.
  • Work quickly — chocolate sets fast, so coat one apple at a time.
  • Wrap in cellophane bags with ribbon for a perfect homemade gift.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; best enjoyed fresh.
