Ingredients
  

For the Filling

  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided

For the Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk (or almond milk for dairy-free)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, cubed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the strawberries with half of the sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, remaining sugar, milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into a greased baking dish. Top with the strawberries and cream cheese cubes.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream for added flavor.
