For the Filling

fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

granulated sugar, divided
For the Batter

all-purpose flour

unsalted butter, melted

Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the strawberries with half of the sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes.
In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, remaining sugar, milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
Pour the batter into a greased baking dish. Top with the strawberries and cream cheese cubes.
Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream for added flavor.
