Ingredients
  

For the Cake

  • 1 pint fresh strawberries or 1 cup crushed fresh strawberries
  • 15.25 ounce box French vanilla cake mix I use Duncan Hines
  • 3 ounce box strawberry gelatin mix Jell-O
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup water

For the Frosting

  • ½ block cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • cup unsalted butter softened (you can use salted if that is all you have)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk more if needed to get desired texture

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your baking pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, strawberry gelatin mix, eggs, vegetable oil, water, and fresh strawberries. Mix until well combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • While the cake is cooling, prepare the frosting by beating together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  • Once the cake has cooled, frost it with the cream cheese frosting and serve.

Notes

You can add more strawberries on top for decoration if desired.
