Ingredients
  

For the Spaghetti

  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 4 quarts water
  • 2 tablespoons salt plus more to taste
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese plus more for serving

For the Garlic Bread

  • 1 loaf Italian bread about 24 inches long
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (2 sticks)
  • 8 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder (optional, for extra garlic flavor)
  • to taste salt and freshly ground black pepper

Instructions
 

  • In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add salt and spaghetti, cooking according to package instructions until al dente.
  • In a separate pan, heat olive oil and sauté minced garlic and red pepper flakes until fragrant. Toss cooked spaghetti with garlic oil, parsley, and Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  • For the garlic bread, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Mix softened butter with minced garlic, parsley, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Spread the garlic butter mixture on the cut sides of the Italian bread. Place on a baking sheet and bake for about 10-12 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

You can adjust the garlic levels based on your preference. Serve the spaghetti and garlic bread with extra Parmesan cheese.
