Ingredients
  

For the Bars

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon maple extract
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup milk

For the Glaze

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon maple extract
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons milk as needed for consistency

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. In another bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and sugar until creamy. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and maple extract, mixing well. Then add the sour cream and milk, mixing until combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool.
  • For the glaze, mix the powdered sugar, melted butter, maple syrup, and maple extract. Add milk as needed to reach desired consistency. Drizzle over cooled bars.

Notes

You can adjust the sweetness of the glaze by adding more or less powdered sugar.
