Ingredients
  

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk at room temperature
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter for glaze
  • ¼ cup water for glaze

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan.
  • Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Alternately add flour mixture and milk, beginning and ending with flour.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack.
  • For the glaze, melt butter and water in a saucepan. Drizzle over warm cake.

Notes

  • Use room temperature ingredients for best results.
  • Do not overmix the batter to avoid a dense cake.
  • Let the cake cool slightly before glazing.
