Ingredients
  

For the Dough

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup warm milk (110°F)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring

For the Cinnamon Filling

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon

For the Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk (for consistency)

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, instant yeast, and salt.
  • Add warm milk, melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and red food coloring. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth. Let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter for the filling, and sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon over it.
  • Roll the dough tightly and slice it into rolls. Place the rolls on a baking sheet.
  • Let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes before baking at 350°F for 25 minutes.
  • For the frosting, mix cream cheese, softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth. Spread over the warm rolls.

Notes

You can adjust the amount of milk in the frosting for your desired consistency.
