Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz elbow macaroni
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk whole or 2%
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions
 

  • Cook pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil and cook chicken with garlic powder, salt, and pepper until golden and cooked through. Set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter, add garlic, then stir in flour to form a roux.
  • Gradually whisk in milk, cook until thickened. Stir in cheeses and Italian seasoning until smooth.
  • Add pasta and chicken to the sauce, stir well. Let sit a few minutes before serving. Garnish as desired.

  • Add veggies like peas or spinach.
  • Use different cheeses like cheddar or Gruyere.
