Ingredients
  

For the Pie Crust

  • 1 pie crust unbaked 9-inch pie crust store-bought or homemade

For the Filling

  • 3 large eggs room temperature
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg plus extra for sprinkling

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and salt until well combined.
  • Gradually stir in the milk and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  • Pour the custard mixture into the prepared pie crust.
  • Sprinkle the ground nutmeg on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the custard is set.
  • Allow to cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

This pie can be served warm or chilled. Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
