Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar (for rolling)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until creamy. Add the egg and molasses, mixing well.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until combined.
  • Form the dough into small balls and roll them in granulated sugar.
  • Place the balls on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until set.
  • Let the cookies cool on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container to keep them soft. You can add chocolate chips for extra flavor.
