For the Mac and Cheese

elbow macaroni

sharp cheddar cheese
shredded

whole milk

unsalted butter

all-purpose flour

panko bread crumbs
Instructions
Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour to make a roux.
Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Cook until thickened.
Add the shredded cheddar cheese and stir until melted.
Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce.
Top with panko bread crumbs and bake until golden brown.
Notes
For extra crispiness, broil the mac and cheese for the last 2 minutes.
