  • 1 sheet puff pastry store bought
  • 1 cup strawberries sliced
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • cup sugar
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • ¼-1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • Additional fresh strawberries sliced
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Roll out puff pastry and cut into squares.
  • Bake pastry squares until golden and puffed, about 15 minutes.
  • Combine strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan. Simmer until thickened.
  • Beat cream cheese, sugar, heavy cream, vanilla, and almond extract until smooth.
  • Slice baked pastry squares in half horizontally.
  • Fill with cream mixture and strawberry compote.
  • Top with fresh strawberries and dust with powdered sugar.

Notes
