Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup canned pumpkin puree
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions
 

  • Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt in a bowl.
  • In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  • Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  • Drop spoonfuls of batter into the oil and fry until golden, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Drain on paper towels and dust with powdered sugar.

Notes

  • Use a cookie scoop for even-sized donut holes.
  • Do not overcrowd the oil to maintain temperature.
  • Test oil temperature with a small amount of batter first.
