Ingredients
  

  • 8 cups Crispix cereal
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 250°F.
  • Spread the Crispix cereal and pecans on a large baking sheet.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Stir in brown sugar and corn syrup. Bring to a boil.
  • Boil for 2 minutes without stirring.
  • Remove from heat and add vanilla and baking soda.
  • Pour the mixture over the cereal and pecans, tossing to coat evenly.
  • Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  • Cool completely before breaking into pieces.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container to maintain crunch.
  • You can use other nuts like almonds if preferred.
  • For a quicker version, microwave the sugar mixture in 30-second intervals instead of stovetop.
