Ingredients
  

  • 1 can 15 oz pure pumpkin
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 can 12 oz evaporated milk
  • 1 box 15.25 oz golden or yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice or substitute with cinnamon and nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, mix pumpkin, sugar, eggs, evaporated milk, and spices.
  • Pour mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the pumpkin layer.
  • Top with chopped pecans.
  • Drizzle melted butter over the top.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes or until golden brown and set.
  • Let cool before serving.

Notes

  • Use pure pumpkin, not pumpkin pie mix.
  • Evaporated milk is different from sweetened condensed milk.
  • Substitute pumpkin pie spice with cinnamon and nutmeg if needed.
