Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoon milk
  • 3 tablespoon boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon dry active yeast
  • 8 oz all purpose flour a little under 2 cups
  • 1 ½ oz sugar about 3 tablespoons
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1 oz butter cold to room temperature
  • 1 dash salt

Oil for Frying

  • Enough oil to cover the bottom few inches of a wok or deep fryer

Glaze Ingredients

  • cup butter
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 tablespoon hot water or as needed

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine milk, boiling water, and dry active yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  • Mix in flour, sugar, egg, butter, and salt until a dough forms. Knead the dough until smooth.
  • Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Roll out the dough and cut into doughnut shapes. Let them rest for 15 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a wok or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C) and fry the doughnuts until golden brown.
  • For the glaze, melt butter and mix with confectioners' sugar, vanilla extract, and hot water until smooth.
  • Dip each doughnut into the glaze and place on a rack to cool.

Notes

You can adjust the glaze consistency by adding more hot water if needed.
