In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking until the onion is translucent.
In a large baking dish, combine the browned beef mixture with diced potatoes, green beans, diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes. If using, sprinkle cheese on top during the last 10 minutes of baking.
