Ingredients
  

For the Chicken Marinade

  • 1 lb chicken breast boneless, skinless
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For the Gyros

  • 4 pieces pita breads
  • 1 cup tzatziki sauce
  • 1 cup chopped lettuce
  • ½ cup diced tomatoes
  • ¼ cup sliced red onion

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add chicken breast and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  • Grill or cook the marinated chicken in a skillet over medium heat for 15 minutes or until fully cooked. Slice the chicken.
  • Warm the pita breads and fill them with sliced chicken, tzatziki sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, and red onion.

Notes

You can substitute chicken with beef or lamb for a different flavor.
