Instructions
In a mixing bowl, combine the diced peaches, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch mixture. Stir well to combine.
In another bowl, mix the flour, salt, and baking powder. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the buttermilk until a dough forms.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into circles. Place a spoonful of the filling on one half of each circle, fold over, and seal the edges.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the pies until golden brown on both sides. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
