Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet

Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • cups warm water (about 110°F)
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • ¼ cup olive oil (plus more for greasing and drizzling)

For the Topping

  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary or thyme (optional, for garnish)
  • Flaky sea salt

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  • Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the dough onto a greased baking sheet.
  • Top with minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  • Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Optionally, garnish with fresh rosemary or thyme before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add herbs directly into the dough.
