  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon garlic salt to taste
  • 2 cans beef consommé 10.5-ounce cans
  • 2 cans French onion soup 10.5-ounce cans
  • ¾ cup water
  • 2 cups uncooked long grain white rice
  • ¾ cup butter cut into slices

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in garlic salt, beef consommé, French onion soup, and water. Bring to a simmer.
  • Add the uncooked rice and butter slices. Stir to combine.
  • Transfer the mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish. Cover with foil.
  • Bake for 30 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
