Au Jus Preparation
2cupslow-sodium beef broth
2teaspoonsWorcestershire sauce
1teaspoonsoy sauce

Instructions
Butter one side of each bread slice and set aside.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Place 4 bread slices butter-side down. Top each with 1 slice of Swiss cheese, roast beef, caramelized onions, and another slice of Swiss cheese. Cover with the remaining bread slices, butter-side up.
Cook the sandwiches until golden brown on both sides and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
For the au jus, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper in a saucepan. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Serve the sandwiches with au jus for dipping.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use homemade beef broth.
