Ingredients
  

Pastry

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 large apple, thinly sliced

Filling

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon brewed espresso or strong coffee
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Topping

  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • powdered sugar and milk for glaze optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut into 6 equal rectangles and place on the baking sheet.
  • In a bowl, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, brown sugar, espresso, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until smooth.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture onto each pastry rectangle. Top with sliced apples.
  • Brush the edges of the pastries with beaten egg.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes, until golden brown.
  • Optional: Mix powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze and drizzle over the pastries.

Notes

These pastries are best served warm.
