These Easy Baked Apple Crumb Donuts are tender, spiced, and full of real apple flavor with a buttery cinnamon crumb topping. Made with pancake mix for convenience, they’re ready in just 30 minutes and perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a cozy fall treat.

Ingredients
  

Apple Donuts:

  • 2 cups pancake mix
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup milk 1%
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 cup apple finely diced (preferably Granny Smith)

Crumb Topping:

  • ¼ cup butter softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar packed
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar for sprinkling

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 12-cavity donut pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk pancake mix, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, and melted butter.
  • Stir wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the finely diced apples.
  • In a small bowl, mix crumb topping ingredients (except powdered sugar) until crumbly.
  • Spoon batter into donut pan, filling ¾ full.
  • Top each donut generously with crumb mixture.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool in pan 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  • Once cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Notes

  • Use tart apples like Granny Smith for contrast.
  • Don’t overmix the batter to keep donuts fluffy.
  • Can be baked in a muffin tin if donut pan isn’t available.
  • Store at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for later.
  • Optional: Add a glaze made from powdered sugar and apple cider for extra flavor.
