Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup finely chopped dill pickles
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans for coating

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese until smooth.
  • Stir in the chopped dill pickles, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until evenly mixed.
  • Shape the mixture into a ball and wrap tightly in plastic wrap.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and the cheese ball to firm up.
  • Unwrap the cheese ball and roll it in chopped pecans, pressing gently to coat evenly.
  • Serve chilled with crackers, bread, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • Chill overnight for the best flavor development.
  • Pat pickles dry before mixing to prevent excess moisture.
  • Substitute pecans with walnuts, almonds, or crushed pretzels for a nut-free option.
  • Add a teaspoon of pickle juice for extra tang if desired.
  • Best served chilled and fresh; do not freeze.
