Ingredients
  

For the Casserole

  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 can (14 oz) pizza sauce
  • 1 can (14 oz) undrained diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

For the Pasta and Toppings

  • 8 ounces rotini pasta
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup sliced pepperoni
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Brown the ground beef or Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  • Add onion, garlic, and bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened.
  • Transfer the meat and vegetable mixture to the crockpot. Stir in pizza sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
  • Cook on low for 4 hours.
  • During the last 30 minutes, add cooked rotini pasta, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni. Stir to combine and let cheese melt.

Notes

You can use any combination of your favorite pizza toppings in this casserole.
