Ingredients
  

For the Beef

  • 2 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

For the Broth

  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

For the Sandwich

  • 4 hoagie rolls hoagie rolls
  • 4 slices provolone cheese optional
  • Fresh parsley for garnish optional

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the beef roast with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Sear the roast in the skillet until browned on all sides.
  • Transfer the roast to the crockpot. Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender.
  • Remove the beef from the crockpot and shred with two forks. Return the shredded beef to the broth.
  • To serve, place shredded beef in hoagie rolls, top with provolone cheese, and garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

You can serve the sandwiches with a side of the broth for dipping.
