cabbage

uncooked rice

crushed tomatoes

can (15 ounces)
tomato sauce

tablespoon
Worcestershire sauce

teaspoon
dried oregano

teaspoon
dried basil
Salt and pepper

shredded cheese

Instructions
Chop the cabbage, onion, and mince the garlic.
Brown the ground beef or turkey in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
In the slow cooker, combine the chopped cabbage, cooked meat, uncooked rice, onion, garlic, crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
Stir well to mix all ingredients.
Cover and cook on low for 4 hours, or until the rice and cabbage are tender.
If using cheese, sprinkle it on top during the last 15 minutes of cooking.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, substitute the ground meat with lentils or additional vegetables.
