Crispy Chicken Wonton Tacos

Ingredients
  

For the Wonton Shells

  • Wonton wrappers wonton wrappers square or round
  • Cooking oil cooking oil vegetable or canola, for frying

For the Chicken Filling

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts diced
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Teriyaki Glaze

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoon water for thickening

Optional Toppings

  • shredded cabbage or lettuce
  • diced green onions
  • sesame seeds
  • Sriracha or spicy mayo

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry wonton wrappers until crispy and golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine diced chicken, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Cook chicken mixture in the same frying pan until fully cooked. Set aside.
  • For the teriyaki glaze, mix soy sauce, honey or brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, cornstarch mixture in a saucepan. Cook until thickened.
  • Assemble tacos by placing chicken filling in wonton shells, drizzling with teriyaki glaze, and adding optional toppings.

Notes
