Ingredients
  

For the Bread

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¾ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ cup milk

For the Apple Mixture

  • 2 apples, peeled and chopped (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

For the Cinnamon-Sugar Swirl

  • cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
  • In another bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Gradually add to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, until just combined.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the chopped apples with sugar and cinnamon.
  • Layer half of the batter in the prepared loaf pan. Add the apple mixture, then top with the remaining batter.
  • In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon for the swirl. Sprinkle over the top of the batter.
  • Bake for 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool before slicing.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add nuts or raisins to the batter.
