Ingredients
  

For the Cake

  • 1 box white cake mix (15.25 oz) Prepared according to package instructions
  • 1 teaspoon coconut extract Optional, for extra flavor

For the Frosting

  • 1 package cream cheese Softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon coconut extract
  • 1 container whipped topping (Cool Whip) Thawed

For the Topping

  • 2 cups sweetened shredded coconut Toasted or untoasted based on preference

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the white cake mix according to package instructions and bake in a baking pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and coconut extract. Mix until smooth.
  • Fold in the thawed whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.
  • Once the cake is cooled, spread the frosting evenly on top.
  • Sprinkle the sweetened shredded coconut over the frosting.

Notes

You can toast the shredded coconut for added flavor.
