Ingredients
  

For the Cake

  • 1 box vanilla cake mix plus ingredients listed on the box, usually eggs, oil, and water

For the Cinnamon Mixture

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup melted butter

For the Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the vanilla cake mix according to the package instructions and bake in a baking pan.
  • While the cake is baking, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter in a bowl to create the cinnamon mixture.
  • Once the cake is baked, let it cool slightly, then poke holes all over the top with a fork.
  • Pour the cinnamon mixture over the warm cake, allowing it to soak in.
  • In another bowl, mix together cream cheese, softened unsalted butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth to create the frosting.
  • Spread the cream cheese frosting over the top of the cake.
  • Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.

Notes

This cake can be topped with additional cinnamon or nuts for extra flavor.
