Ingredients
  

For the Candy

  • 3 ¾ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ cups light corn syrup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon extract
  • ½ teaspoon red food coloring optional

For Dusting

  • Powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • Combine granulated sugar, corn syrup, and water in a saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil. Use a candy thermometer to check the temperature until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
  • Remove from heat and stir in cinnamon extract and food coloring if using.
  • Pour the mixture onto a greased baking sheet. Let it cool completely, then break into pieces.
  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

This candy can be stored in an airtight container for several weeks.
