Instructions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine the warm water, active dry yeast, and granulated sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
Stir in the melted butter, salt, and flour until a dough forms. Knead until smooth.
Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Cook the ground beef with onions and mix in ketchup, mustard, and pickle relish.
Divide the dough into equal pieces, flatten them, and place a spoonful of the beef mixture and cheese in the center. Fold the dough over and seal.
Boil water with baking soda. Drop each pretzel bomb into the water for 30 seconds, then place on a baking sheet.
Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
Serve warm for the best flavor. You can try different fillings based on your preference.
