Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, brown sugar, sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and chopped pecans. Mix well and set aside.
In a saucepan, melt the butter for the caramel sauce. Stir in the brown sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Remove from heat.
In another bowl, mix the flour, brown sugar, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until crumbly. Stir in the boiling water until combined.
Spread the apple filling in a baking dish. Pour the caramel sauce over the apples. Drop spoonfuls of the topping mixture over the filling.
Mix the additional topping ingredients and sprinkle over the cobbler.
Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
Let the cobbler cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm for best taste.
