Ingredients
  

For the Apple Filling

  • 9 pieces apples, peel, core and slice I used Granny Smith
  • cup brown sugar
  • cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped

For the Caramel Sauce

  • ¾ cup butter (1½ sticks)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Topping

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • cup brown sugar
  • cup sugar
  • 3 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, cut into small pieces
  • cup boiling water

Additional Topping

  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, brown sugar, sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and chopped pecans. Mix well and set aside.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter for the caramel sauce. Stir in the brown sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Remove from heat.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour, brown sugar, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until crumbly. Stir in the boiling water until combined.
  • Spread the apple filling in a baking dish. Pour the caramel sauce over the apples. Drop spoonfuls of the topping mixture over the filling.
  • Mix the additional topping ingredients and sprinkle over the cobbler.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Let the cobbler cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm for best taste.
