Brown Sugar Cinnamon Swirl Pancakes

Ingredients
  

For the Pancakes:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour 120g
  • 2 tablespoon granulated sugar 25g
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup buttermilk 180ml
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted 14g
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Swirl:

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted 57g
  • ¼ cup packed dark brown sugar 50g
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

To Serve:

  • Maple syrup

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, mix buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just mixed.
  • For the swirl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Pour pancake batter onto the skillet.
  • Drizzle the swirl mixture over the pancakes and cook until bubbles form.
  • Flip and cook the other side until golden brown.
  • Serve warm with maple syrup.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the swirl mixture.
