Ingredients
  

For the pasta and cheese sauce

  • 8 oz short pasta such as macaroni, shells, or similar
  • 1 round boursin cheese
  • 1 cup grated white cheddar cheese packed
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour

For the topping

  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter

Instructions
 

  • Cook the short pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a pot, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in the heavy cream and milk until smooth.
  • Add the boursin cheese, white cheddar cheese, and salt to the pot. Stir until the cheeses melt and the sauce is creamy.
  • Combine the cooked pasta with the cheese sauce and mix until well coated.
  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. In a separate bowl, melt the remaining butter and mix with the breadcrumbs. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the pasta.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.

Notes

You can add cooked vegetables or proteins for extra flavor. Adjust the cheese types as desired for a different taste.
