8ozshort pastasuch as macaroni, shells, or similar
1roundboursin cheese
1cupgrated white cheddar cheesepacked
1cupheavy cream
½cupmilk
½teaspoonsalt
2tablespoonunsalted butter
2tablespoonall-purpose flour
For the topping
1cupplain breadcrumbs
2tablespoonunsalted butter
Instructions
Cook the short pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a pot, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in the heavy cream and milk until smooth.
Add the boursin cheese, white cheddar cheese, and salt to the pot. Stir until the cheeses melt and the sauce is creamy.
Combine the cooked pasta with the cheese sauce and mix until well coated.
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. In a separate bowl, melt the remaining butter and mix with the breadcrumbs. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the pasta.
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.
Notes
You can add cooked vegetables or proteins for extra flavor. Adjust the cheese types as desired for a different taste.
