Ingredients
  

For the Cinnamon Rolls

  • 4 to 4 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast (0.25 oz.)
  • ½ cup milk
  • cup butter cut up
  • cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ¾ cup mashed ripe bananas
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 medium banana chopped

For the Browned Butter Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 6 Tbsp. butter
  • 4 oz. cream cheese softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp. milk (if needed)

For the Candied Walnuts

  • cup walnuts chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • ½ Tbsp. butter

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, milk, cut-up butter, sugar, salt, ground cinnamon, and mashed bananas. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for 5-10 minutes until smooth. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  • Roll out the dough and spread softened butter, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and chopped banana over it. Roll it up and cut into rolls.
  • Place rolls in a baking sheet and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • For frosting, beat together browned butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Add milk if needed to reach desired consistency.
  • For candied walnuts, melt butter in a pan, add walnuts and sugar, and cook until golden.
  • Drizzle frosting over warm rolls and top with candied walnuts before serving.

Notes

These rolls are best served warm. You can add nuts or chocolate chips for extra flavor.
