Ingredients
  

For the Fritters

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups peeled and chopped apples such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar, packed

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the chopped apples and brown sugar.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • While the fritters are baking, prepare the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl.
  • Once the fritters are baked and cooled slightly, drizzle the glaze over them before serving.

Notes

These fritters are best enjoyed fresh. You can adjust the amount of sugar in the glaze to your taste.
