Ingredients

  • Base & Apple Filling:
  • 1 dough for a single-crust pie
  • cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 medium baking apples peeled and sliced (½-inch slices)
  • Crumb Topping:
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • cup packed brown sugar
  • cup rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup butter softened
  • Finishing Touch:
  • ¼ to ½ cup caramel ice cream topping or caramel apple dip

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the pie crust into a ¼-inch thick round and place on a pizza pan or baking sheet.
  • In a bowl, mix sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Toss with apple slices until well coated.
  • Arrange apple slices evenly over the crust.
  • In another bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, oats, and cinnamon. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle topping over apples.
  • Bake 35–40 minutes, until golden and apples are tender.
  • Let cool slightly. Drizzle with caramel topping.
  • Slice like a pizza and serve warm (optional with ice cream).

Notes

  • Use tart apples like Granny Smith for best flavor.
  • Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
  • For extra crunch, add chopped pecans to the topping.
  • Refrigerate leftovers up to 3 days. Reheat in oven to restore crispness.
  • Use gluten-free pie dough and oats for a gluten-free version.
