Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter softened and slightly melted
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
  • Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheet.
  • Gently flatten each ball with your palm or the bottom of a glass.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until edges are just turning golden.
  • Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Use cold butter for a crumbly, shortbread-like texture.
  • Dust cooled cookies with extra powdered sugar for a classic finish.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.
  • Add extracts like vanilla, lemon, or almond for flavor variations.
