- 1 sheet puff pastry (store bought)
- 1 cup strawberries, sliced
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4-1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- Additional fresh strawberries, sliced
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out puff pastry and cut into squares.
- Bake pastry squares until golden and puffed, about 15 minutes.
- Combine strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan. Simmer until thickened.
- Beat cream cheese, sugar, heavy cream, vanilla, and almond extract until smooth.
- Slice baked pastry squares in half horizontally.
- Fill with cream mixture and strawberry compote.
- Top with fresh strawberries and dust with powdered sugar.
Notes
- Use cold puff pastry for best results.
- Adjust sugar in compote based on strawberry sweetness.
- Chill cream filling before assembling for easier handling.
