- 1/2 cup unsalted butter – Adds richness and a silky texture

Instructions
- Peel, core, and slice the apples into even pieces
- Place the sliced apples in the slow cooker
- Add butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, vanilla extract, and lemon juice to the slow cooker
- Stir gently to combine all ingredients
- Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours or on high for 1.5-2 hours, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender
- Serve warm as a side dish or dessert
