- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt in a bowl.
- In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of batter into the oil and fry until golden, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Drain on paper towels and dust with powdered sugar.
Notes
- Use a cookie scoop for even-sized donut holes.
- Do not overcrowd the oil to maintain temperature.
- Test oil temperature with a small amount of batter first.
