- 1 can (15 oz) pure pumpkin
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 1 box (15.25 oz) golden or yellow cake mix
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 tbsp pumpkin pie spice (or substitute with cinnamon and nutmeg)
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix pumpkin, sugar, eggs, evaporated milk, and spices.
- Pour mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the pumpkin layer.
- Top with chopped pecans.
- Drizzle melted butter over the top.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until golden brown and set.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- Use pure pumpkin, not pumpkin pie mix.
- Evaporated milk is different from sweetened condensed milk.
- Substitute pumpkin pie spice with cinnamon and nutmeg if needed.
