  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup water (60 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Chocolate chips
  • Additional chopped pecans for garnish
  • Flaked sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread chopped nuts evenly.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, butter, salt, and water.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  5. Pour the hot toffee over the nuts on the baking sheet.
  6. Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top and let them melt.
  7. Spread melted chocolate evenly over the toffee.
  8. Garnish with additional chopped nuts and flaked sea salt if desired.
  9. Let cool completely before breaking into pieces.
