Description

A warm and comforting dessert featuring spiced pumpkin filling topped with a crunchy oat and pecan crisp.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups pure pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix pumpkin puree, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt.
  3. Spread the pumpkin mixture evenly in a baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, combine oats, flour, melted butter, pecans, granulated sugar, and cinnamon.
  5. Sprinkle the oat mixture over the pumpkin filling.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the topping is golden and crisp.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use pure pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling.
  • Adjust spices to your taste.
  • Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
